The Foundations of WCMIF storytelling consists of promoting young, talented, under-represented/under-discovered storytellers, journalists, documentary producers, and communities to a global prominence, while showcasing the rich cultural heritage and history of North America, Africa, Asia, South America, Antarctica, Europe and Australia. As a major part of these creative endeavors, it is important that indigenous and authentic voices are included and heard.-this is Inclusion with Power! Amongst its core ideals of discovering and promoting underrepresented talent, it is also important to support underrepresented, and many times, untold stories. These stories contribute to the preservation and promotion of rich heritage sites and cultures in the continents.
The Foundation wants to lead the course for a new line of storytellers who are charged to tell stories that: transform through their work, fosters education, gender equality, equity, good health, peace and justice, tourism, entrepreneurship, charity and encourages the inclusion and respect of authentic, multicultural voices. We must also understand that storytelling can be healing. Read more about the scientific evidence of positive storytelling to make positive transformational changes.
Established in the new millennium, thousands of documentarians, journalists and filmmakers, all over the globe are due to participate in the various initiatives of the World Changers Media International Foundation as time marches on. The Foundation is a multi-touch point yearlong engagement that offers unique opportunities to young professionals, amateurs, communities and stakeholders who have limited resources to explore the possibilities of telling their own stories through documentary.
